CHAPTER 1

Central hospital

Nurses were coming out of the operation theatre it was a successful brain surgery of six-hour. Everyone was praising Dr. Ceres for his amazing work and was glad to be on his team. As a humble person, he thanked his colleague for their patience and hard work. Dr. Ceres told his colleagues to get some rest as they don’t have any more patients today. After everyone left he was on his way to get a change of clothes when he saw a woman crying in a corridor. A small boy around 5 years came to her and asked “ where is daddy? What happened to him?”. After listening to that the crying of the woman became loud.

2005, Ravenclaw

Dr. Ceres was sleeping when he felt sunlight on his face and was woke up by a voice. He opened his eyes and saw his fiancé Madeline who kissed him and said “ This is not how it’s supposed to be, you should be waking me up with morning kisses”. Ceres smiled at her and Madeline reminded him of their dinner plans for the day. In the background, the news was playing on the TV which said “Mr. Hiram Lodge, from the business league has arrived to seek asylum, he posed in front of the camera with his family. MR and MRS Lodge looked perfect together with their daughters a pair of fraternal twins. They will be staying in Ravenclaw for a while till the completion of the business trip”. Next, the news anchor told about the director of Central hospital, “Fred Andrews is getting praise for his great rate of successful surgeries.” Madeline after hearing this becomes happy as the head of the team of doctors is Ceres and it is all because of him. Ceres says to Madeline that” I’m thankful for your father instead of him being thankful to me, and it's all because of him that I can work in Ravenclaw like

this”. Madeline says to Ceres “ If you follow my father's lead when he becomes the board chairman of the hospital he will make you the chief of surgery”. “Eventually, you will become the director and I will become the director’s wife”. Suddenly her cheeks become red and she starts blushing which makes Ceres smile. He starts tickling her and both of them were laughing badly when it ended.

CHAPTER 2

Dr. Ceres was coming out of the operation theatre and once again he performed a high-profile case with success. As he was departing towards the corridor Dr. Barnes congratulated him for the recent case and as they were talking he asked Dr. Ceres how he can perform so well in every case, how he got a beautiful fiancé who is the daughter of the director of the hospital and how the director always favors him. His words made Ceres confused and asked him to be clear so Dr. Barnes just said that he thinks there is some politics behind everything anyway he was happy for Dr. Ceres and after that, he just left. Thinking about the last conversation Dr. Ceres was on his way when he saw a lady with a child. The lady was giving weird expressions to him and was continuously staring at him while he was walking. He asked her can he help her and she replied by asking whether he was the famous neurosurgeon Dr. Ceres. He gave her a nod and all of a sudden she jumped at him holding at his shirt collar and started shouting to bring his husband back. She began sobbing which turned into a cry and said why he didn’t perform his husband's surgery. Dr. Ceres remembered that before he was put into this high-profile surgery he preparing for the surgery of a worker who got into an accident but then Dr. Barnes came through the door and told him to immediately go to the VIP case as per the director’s order. The woman said angrily that he could have saved his husband if he performed his operation.

Ceres was having dinner with Madeline in a restaurant and she was talking about how the day went but all Ceres could think about was how he could have saved the worker if he was there for him. Madeline noticed he was not paying attention to her and seemed distracted. She said, “ you seemed to be preoccupied when I’m here trying to get your attention”. He looked at her and explained to her what was going on inside his brain. He started blaming himself for what happened to the worker after hearing that Madeline said that not every life is the same which shocked him.

The police got a strange call from the asylum area so they went to investigate. When they reached they took out their gun and in groups slowly. The head of the police said, “ Don’t make any noise let's split into 2 groups and met back in 15 min”. The two groups went for a search one group saw two dead bodies lying near the sofa. It was MR and MRS Lodge's body in terrible condition. As one of the police members checked for any person there he saw a shadow through the opening of the hall. A constable went to check and saw one of the twin sisters lying on the floor with blood pooling out from the head and the other sister scared standing in the corner. The police reported to the headquarter about the two dead bodies of a man and a woman. One girl survivor and another girl in critical condition.
